CH100 Frequently Asked Questions

Formula CH100 has recently been made available to the general public. At Cathay Herbal we received many enquiries regarding this formula. The formula are the most commonly asked questions and our answers.

Q. What does it do for me?
A.
It assists in the treatment of liver diseases caused by abnormal liver function and it also improves the liver condition.

Q. Could I take it as a liver tonic?
A.
Yes. In fact many patients just want a broad spectrum liver tonic. CH100 is ideal for this purpose. Taken for at least 3 months at the rate of 5 tablets 3 times daily, thereafter as felt beneficial by the patient at the rate of 3 tablets 3 times daily. In this case no blood tests are indicated.

Q. In what form is the tonic?
A.
CH100 comes in tablet form.

Q. How long will I have to take it for?
A.
It varies for each person. If Hepatitis C has been diagnosed, the initial dosage should be 5 tablets 3 times daily. When your liver function tests show a normalisation or near normalisation (probably 6 months' treatment) then go on to the maintenance dosage which is 3 tablets 3 times daily.

Q. Is it safe to take CH100?
A.
All the ingredients in CH100 are herbal and there are no manufactured chemical substances.

CH100 is now on the Therapeutic Goods List under AUST L 57558. To be included on the list the medicines must come from a factory in China which has been audited by an Australian health official and is found to have "Good Manufacturing Practices" (GMP) status. Ongoing audits are then conducted every 3 years. The formula and the method of manufacture must be submitted to an examination by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) before an AUST L number is assigned to medicine.

CH100 was trialled in John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle, headed by Prof. RG Batey of Newcastle University. Before commencement of this clinical trial it was approved by the ethics committee for the John Hunter Hospital and the trial was conducted on the double blinded method.

Q. How much does the treatment cost?
A.
Treatment Costs:

$96 for one month's treatment
$267 for 3 month's treatment (normally $288 - save $21)
$500 for 6 months' treatment (normally $576 - save $76)

Q. Is the product guaranteed?
A.
No. There are no guarantees in medicine.

Q. I am on interferon (or other medication), can I take CH100 at the same time?
A. Yes

Q. Could I take CH100 whilst I am pregnant?
A.
No. It is not recommended during pregnancy and whilst breast feeding.

Q. I have digestive problems such as an ulcer would I be able to take CH100?
A.
Yes. CH100 also helps to improve digestive problems.

Q. Should I see my own GP?
A.
Yes. If you are currently seeing a GP you should continue to do so. It is a good idea to get liver function tests done regularly as indicated by your GP.

Q. Do I have to make any modifications to my diet or lifestyle
whilst on CH100.
A.
Alcohol, stress, colds and flu or overwork and physical exertion are the major factors which will affect the liver function. It is essential to eliminate alcohol, and greasy (deep fried food particularly) or spicy or fatty foods are not recommended. Also make sure that you get plenty of rest.
